Job Description:

Sanlam Developing Markets [SDM] (a wholly-owned subsidiary of Sanlam Life Limited) is one of the top financial services providers in the South African entry-level and emerging middle market. It aims to understand the unique requirements of clients and offers a wide range of simple and affordable financial solutions that cover needs such as funeral insurance, savings for education, life cover and personal accident plans. In terms of the Sanlam Group Governance Policy, SDM is managed by the SA Retail Mass cluster, which is part of the Sanlam Life and Savings cluster within the Sanlam Group. The cluster focusses on retail porducts, as well as group schemes.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with Channels management to identify critical metrics and KPIs for all lead’s campaigns
  • Analyse and breakdown profile for leads converted and not converted and present solutions on how to improve the conversion rate
  • Stay current on industry practices and trends in the short-term insurance and reinsurance environments and contribute innovative ideas for the use of technology and improvement of processes
  • Consult with business to identify business problems and opportunities
  • Conceptualization, proposal of solution and business case development as it relates to Leads and Orphan Client Management
  • Administration, planning and organizing of work to ensure successful and on time delivery
  • Participate in quality assurance, user acceptance testing, demonstrations and training of new solutions
  • Ensure strategic and project objectives are met by validating those requirements and solutions will deliver on those agreed objectives
  • Elicit, analyse, document and maintain business requirements and functional specifications for more than one project at a time which may be at different stages of the project and development lifecycles
  • Analyse and breakdown relevant business processes and understand the impact on business and end users
  • Analyse, decompose and model relevant business data requirements in the form of conceptual and logical data models and data definitions
  • Built reporting to measure campaign cost per lead, lead form completed rate, leads conversion rate and ROI per campaign
  • Conceptualize, propose solution to manage Orphan clients and ensure that all clients have been allocated a servicing adviser. Reporting on trends for clients who have no servicing adviser allocated and channel
  • Work closely with marketing and other key stakeholders to align Distribution strategic objectives to the various leads campaign
  • Continues review of the system and process that supports leads management
  • Provide support and collaborate with project management, change management, training, design, development and testing competencies
  • Comply with company policies and procedures, standards and methodologies

Job Requirements:

  • Cost estimation, budget management, target setting, building business cases, defining benefits
  • Building presentations, creating visual representation of requirements or designs, creating wireframes.
  • Advanced Excel, Power Queries and working SQL query experience would be advantageous
  • Working with systems lead and orphan lifecycle methodologies
  • Liaising and collaborating with other key stakeholders and project resources e.g. project managers, developers, other business analysts, test analysts and change managers at different levels of the organization and across multiple teams
  • Work experience as a data analyst or in a related field
  • Writing project concepts and proposals, building business models and roadmaps, writing business requirements and user stories
  • Matric/ Grade 12
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Business Analyst in Financial Services servicing high volume transactional software.
