Job Description:

To facilitate fair application of workplace policies and labour legislation by monitoring and reporting on business compliance to appropriate industrial relations legislation by building the employee relations capability and enabling management effectiveness through the execution of proactive employee relations initiatives, aligned to the organisational philosophy

Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage team or teams in areas of responsibility in delivery against performance targets and achievement of wider human capital objectives
  • Monitor the consistency of sanctions and Industrial Relations (IR) advice, and compliance to plans, policies and procedures to minimise labour disputes
  • Draw up a budget aligned to tactical delivery plans to facilitate the provision of adequate financial resources
  • Demonstrate leadership behaviour through personal involvement, commitment and dedication in support of organisational values
  • Analyse information and reports to identify trends, discrepancies and inconsistencies for decision making purposes
  • Deploys integrated risk management, governance and compliance frameworks throughout area of responsibility
  • Monitor trends and integrate IR/ER practice with Organisational Development to enable holistic solutions to behavioural and conduct challenges
  • Investigate ethics complaints, disciplinary actions and employee appeals and grievances to provide guidance and recommendations for resolution
  • Engage and negotiate with stakeholders on policies, labour disputes, and cases to ensures issues are resolved
  • Establish mutually beneficial relationships with stakeholders that support thought leadership, innovative and integrated practice solutions
  • Plan and implement knowledge and master classes on critical ER/IR topics e.g. performance, sexual harassment, discrimination, policies to influence behaviour and culture changes
  • Provide subject matter expertise and thought leadership in area of expertise.
  • Manage expenditure planning and variances within approved budget parameters
  • Develop, encourage and nurture collaborative relationships across business areas and across the group

Qualification & Experience:

  • Preferred Qualification – Human Resource Management, Labour Law, or Industrial Relations Post Graduate Degree
  • Minimum Qualification – Human Resource Management, Labour Law, or Industrial Relations Degree
  • Experience – 5 to 8 years experience in a similar environment, of which 2 to 3 years ideally at a senior management level
