Job Description:

Direct planning, organizing, implementing, monitoring, control and evaluation of Public Health Services at the Public Health Unit, Central Health Department. Develop strategies, programmes and action plans in accordance with the principles of Health that are in line with the City target, SDP and legislation.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Formulation of standard operating procedures and protocols and facilitation of implementation;
    Effective and efficient management of Public Health Services;
  • Implement financial process according to Supply Chain Management Policy and Municipal
  • Finance Management Act of 2003, Act 56 of 2003;
  • Implement effective stock and financial control processes;
  • Monitor and evaluate the Expanded Programme on Immunisation (EPI), Epidemic
  • Preparedness Response (EPR), Child Health and Youth Programmes undertaken by the region so that they are always in line with strategic imperatives of the Council and contribute to improved health service delivery;
  • Coordinate Education & Training Programme on EPI, EPR, Child Health and Youth
  • Programmes to Health facility personnel and the local communities;
  • Coordinate and control EPI, EPR, Child Health and Youth Programmes tasks and activities associated with personnel performance.

Job Requirements:

  • Computer literacy MS Office, especially Word and Excel, including DHIS program skills;
  • Good communication skills;
