Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain working relationship with nursing and other stakeholders (i.e. inter-professional, inter-sectoral and multidisciplinary teamwork).
  • Participate in the analysis, formulating and implementation of nursing guidelines, practices, standard and procedures.
  • Supervise and ensure the provision of an effective and efficient patient care through adequate nursing care.
  • Coordinate and monitor the implementation of the primary health care processes (PHC supervision policy) and the evaluation thereof.
  • Provide relevant health information to health care users to assist in achieving optimal health care and rehabilitation of patients.
  • Manage and monitor utilization of human, financial and physical resources

Job Requirements:

  • Thorough knowledge of nursing care processes, procedures, nursing statutes and other relevant legal frameworks such as: Nursing Act, Health Act,
  • Occupational Health and Safety Act, Patient Rights Charter, Batho-Pele Principles etc.
  • Operational Management skills, good communication, report writing, problem solving, planning and organizing skills.
  • Basic qualification accredited with SANC in terms of Government Notice 425 (i.e. diploma/degree in nursing).
  • Must be Primary Healthcare trained and be registered with the South African Nursing Council (SANC).

Qualification & Experience:

  • A minimum of 7 years appropriate/recognizable experience in nursing after registration as Professional Nurse with the South African Nursing Council in General Nursing.
