Job Description:

Handles the receipt of parts, equipment and consumables, their storage and subsequent issue against appropriate requisitions. Records parts, equipment and consumable movements on a computerized system. Ensures that the stores are kept in good order and are clean and tidy.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that the necessary authorisations are in place prior to issuing stock.
  • Identify the need for and do partial issuing as per system requirements.
  • Forklift operations.
  • Check diesel levels and record findings on “Diesel Dip form.”
  • Adhere to all legal requirements.
  • Adhere to all SHEQ related requirements.
  • Receive items returned to store and ensure adherence to return procedure as per system requirements.
  • Receive material via “Direct Delivery” or Stock route.
  • Bin and identify store items in correct allocated store area.
  • Inform supervisor on low stock levels or incorrect/damaged materials, equipment and supplies received.
  • Assist with stock taking by counting, re-labeling and re-allocating of stock where required
  • Assist internal customers with queries.
  • Capture all Stores requisitions according to requisition number on ERP system.
  • File all captured requisitions according to Requisition number.
  • Complete “South Store Register” book at main store for goods taken to south store
  • Wears Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as necessary for the job.
  • Issue materials as per Stores Requisition Form.
  • Compare information on requisitions to material issued to verify accuracy of order.
  • Perform all necessary inspections i.e. ladder, roller door, forklift etc
  • Count empty gas cylinders on a daily basis and report amount to supervisor.
  • Do a recon of gas cylinders on site monthly.
  • Conduct general housekeeping as instructed by Supervisor

Job Requirements:

  • 2-5 Years Experience in a Manufacturing Stores environment
  • Advanced knowledge in ERP Systems
  • Valid Forklift Licence would be an added advantage
  • Knowledge in stock keeping and stock control
  • Attention to detail is critical.
  • Communication skills are key.
  • A good team player, but also be able to work independently.
  • A self-motivator.
  • National Diploma related to inventory, stores, procurement or logistics an advantage
  • Knowledge of ISO9001 standard
  • Knowledge of regulations pertaining to procurement
  • Experience in handling hazardous material
  • Grade 12
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office – Especially Excel
  • Competent working with ERP systems
  • Candidate must be reliable, responsible and energetic.
  • He/She must be highly ethical.
